History Pit Stop 4
The 1969 Datsun 1600: big enough to give five hefty Canadians a ride!

Here are pages from another Canadian Datsun brochure, this time for the 510, or 1600 as it was still being called here in early 1969. Once again, several of the photos appear to be Vancouver BC area locations. Click on the thumbnail for a larger view.

This appears to be North Van, not far from where the All Datsun Nissan show is now held.

Maybe UBC?

By far the most interesting page history-wise. The ship at left is loading 411's, 520's and Roadsters in Japan. The number 14 Cedric is in the '67 East African Safari Rally, driven by Jock Aird and Robin Hillyar. The R381 Japan GP winner is the version with the soon to be banned rear wing, which could be adjusted on course to change the downforce on the car.
